Carl Swanson, founder of The Swanson Group,  retired from the FBI as a Senior Supervisory Special Agent after thirty years of military and government service. 

During his tenure with the FBI, Mr. Swanson conducted and managed some of the FBI’s most complex investigative matters to include: complex white collar crime, wire & mail fraud, money laundering, Ponzi schemes, insisder trading,  civil rights violations, bank fraud, mortgage fraud, incidents of violent crimes.

These investigations often utilized sensitive investigative techniques such as undercover operations and Title III (wiretap) investigations. The United States Attorney's Office has presented him with awards for outstanding investigation and prosecution.

He has extensive experience testifying in court proceedings.  Additionally, he conducted  internal investigations and special inquiries on behalf of the FBI, and participated in nation-wide FBI field office to insure compliance with FBI policies. 

As an FBI press spokesperson, he drafted press releases, provided official comment to inquiries, and conducted press conferences. 

Mr. Swanson has been awarded the FBI Medal of Valor and the FBI Star for heroism in an armed confrontation.

After retiring from the FBI, he subsequently directed fraud investigations for the nation's largest healthcare insurance company.  These investigations ranged from upcoding, miscoding, services not rendered, and "capping" for ambulatory surgical centers to hospital billing fraud.  Additionally, he was responsible for coordinating these investigations with company physicians, the corporate legal team, and  outside counsel for civil litigation and recovery.  He provided training to sales associates and client companies concerning healthcare fraud issues. 

He has also taught at conferences of the National Healthcare Anti-Fraud Association (NHCAA).
